Wageningen
Wageningen
A green university town of about thirteen thousand students, home to Wageningen University & Research. Housing runs mainly through Idealis, with rooms offered via ROOM.nl and Roommatch.nl. Waiting times are among the shortest in the country — often cited under two years — and the verified priority window for first-years living more than 130 kilometres from campus runs from 13 July to 15 September 2026.

VerifiedRegister on ROOM.nl for Idealis priority
Idealis tells first-years to register at ROOM.nl before 13 July 2026. Then complete your study details on Roommatch and send Idealis your Roommatch registration number. The same email address must be on both accounts.

VerifiedPriority if you live more than 130 km away
First-year students living further than 130 kilometres from campus get a one-time priority on their account. It runs from 13 July 2026 until 15 September 2026, shows on Roommatch from 13 July, and ends as soon as you sign an Idealis contract. It does not guarantee a room before the academic year starts. From 13 July, Idealis publishes most furnished rooms via ROOM.nl.
Check ROOM.nl for the current date.
Fill inFebruary intake priority
WUR has a February start, but the Idealis page we checked only publishes the 13 July–15 September 2026 window. Add the spring dates here if Idealis publishes them. Check Idealis and ROOM.nl for current dates.

Standing ruleLottery or waiting time is printed on the ad
There is no single national draw date. Some rooms go to the longest registration time, others by lottery. The advertisement says which. Check ROOM.nl for the current rule on a specific room.
Where to look
- ROOM.nl
ROOM.nl's own registration for non-profit student housing. ROOM charges a one-time €35 fee, from age 16. ROOM does not list the rooms.
- Roommatch.nl
Supply site linked to ROOM. Several landlords, including DUWO, Idealis and Lefier, publish ads here.
- SSH
Student landlord in Utrecht, Rotterdam, Groningen, Tilburg, Zwolle and a few other cities. Waiting time usually comes from ROOM.nl.
- DUWO
Student landlord in Amsterdam, Delft, Leiden, The Hague and a few other cities. Many rooms for newcomers are reserved by the university.
- SSH&
Student landlord for Nijmegen and Arnhem. New rooms go online on Wednesdays. A free profile is enough to start.
- Idealis
Student landlord for Wageningen and Ede. Furnished rooms are published via ROOM and Roommatch.
- Kamernet
Private rooms and sublets. A subscription, not a waiting list. Check the landlord yourself.
- HousingAnywhere
Mid-term and international listings, with a booking fee. Useful when the corporation list is too slow.
